Pull out method

So I was told throughout school that the pull out method was not effective and that it was a sure fire way to get pregnant. My husband and I have been using this method since I had my implant removed over 3 months ago and I'm still not pregnant? Thoughts? I'd love to be pregnant but we're holding out for a while... But neither of us are too bothered!
