Puffy nipples

My nipples, well my areolas, are quite puffy and stick out almost like semi circles from my breasts. I don't know if they'll always be like this or is it because I'm still young? My nipples can like "flatten" if my nipples/boobs are stimulated but not for that long and not like most women. I want nipple piercings but I feel like it'll look bad.
