Scared to lose him

So my s/o is leaving for another country for the next four years soon. Sigh... we've been together almost three years and the thing that's killing me is I dont know if I'm ever going to see him for four years. Im supposed to go study abroad and i thought I could go where he's going but I dont know anymore cause I don't want to distract him from success. I want him to do this without me just like I wanna do this without him but i need my baby and losing him is something I can't even dream of :'(
