Iron. Pill???

Question

My doctor gave me iron pills but I forgot to ask her why! Did anybody here is taking Iron?? Do you guys know why we have to take it during pregnancy??? And how does it help with the baby devoloment??

It will help you in the first instance because it may make you a little less tired. Also, if your iron levels drop too low it can make you very poorly. As for the baby, it helps with brain and eye development. The baby takes so much from you during pregnancy, you just need a little topping up!
My son was born at 31 weeks and they have given me an iron supplement to add to his milk to make sure he gets what he needs. All totally normal!

I'm anemic so I have to take them. They hurt your stomach though so take them after you've eaten.

I was takin iron pills as well. I had iron deficiency anemia.
