Pains

My stomach gets really hard and it's so uncomfortable and painful. I don't feel like it comes and goes, I feel like it stays that way for hours so I don't know how to time anything bc It just feels constant. I've tried position changes, drinking, warm bath, nothing helps. It happened last night for a couple hours and now again tonight. I can't sleep bc it hurts so bad. I don't want to sound stupid but I'm a FTM and I have no idea what to expect.  Any idea what's going on? BH or contractions or nothing at all?
