Did anybody else buy a 4 in 1 car seat instead of just an infant carrier? I don't see the point in buying a carrier and then having to buy a whole different seat once their grown. I don't know, maybe that's just me!

I have both,  but I like the infant carrier for when they are asleep.  Now you're going to have to get them out and pack them without waking them up....

I thought the same thing-buy a convertible one it will last a long time. But a mom I work with said buy the travel system because you will want it when they are nice and asleep if you get somewhere. With the convertible you'll have to take baby out and put them in a carrier or carry them. Plus going places it gives them something to sit in when they're tiny and can't sit up on their own. We are getting a convertible one for my husbands car and have the carrier/travel system for mine.

Our infant car seat worked for us until our daughter was 2 (she's still under 35 lbs, but is over 31 inches tall). By then we knew we wanted another baby anyway, so we upgraded to the Graco Nautilus 4 in 1. My husband researched carseats for both pregnancies and found infant specific car seats are safer for infants (backward facing, padding and straps designed for smaller frames, etc.) So for us, if it meant greater safety, it was a no brainer.

I read and was told that some people have issues leaving the hospital as most hospitals won't let you leave without an infant carseat. I looked it up and there are no laws in any state stating that you can't use a convertible carseat right off the bat and they cannot legally keep you from leaving, but I would check with the hospital to see what their policy is to avoid any headaches with the staff.

I went with the car seat/stroller instead. You'll be able to use the stroller for a long time to come and a toddler car seat cost nothing compared to the 4-in-1

I ended up getting the infant car seat, it will hold up to 35 lbs so I'm hoping it'll last me until he's 2ish. I am using it as a travel system with my stroller so I don't have to wake him getting in/out of the car! I feel it will be worth it for 2 years, then I'll get a convertible car seat. Good luck!

My grandmother bought me the graco fit4me 65 in the mint color for 90$ 😁 I'll be wearing baby until he is too big so no stroller. I'm 6'0 so I'm pretty sure he would have outgrown an infant carrier pretty fast.

I registered and received a convertible one that's good until 65LB..... But I bought an infant one for $30 from a family friend - so I know the history of the car seat. ☺️ that way I can use that one for a little while until she gets bigger!
