first time being pregnant, and i haven't had a first appointment and i want to know if i will get to hear the heartbeat.....i'm really excited!

With my first on my last pregnancy, I got the ultrasound first and then I talked to the doctor about my health, medical background, and she gave me a folder with information to help me if I need it, and then I got blood drawn. I think it really depends on the doctor though

I'm in the same boat, i go on monday and I'm curious as to what they're gonna do . I'm 5 weeks and 3 days

I just had my first apt yesterday. Lots of medical background questions and reading material. They didn't do a heartbeat scan since it may be to early and they don't want to freak ppl out. So another 4 week wait for that. And I'm low risk so insurance only pays for one ultrasound at 19-20 weeks, which will also be the one to figure out the gender.
