How much castor oil did you take and did it work to induce labor?

Hello ladies! I'm 40w 1d Prego and I need that baby out of me. I just got castor oil to try to bring labor on. But I don't know how much I should take?! Anyone had experience with taking castor oil to induce labor? How much did you take and did it work? Thank you!

Take the whole bottle, open it up, and dump it in the trash. Then wait on baby to come naturally or until your doc decides there is a medical reason to induce you. Don't risk harming yourself or your baby simply because you're tired of being pregnant.

Look up the recipe for labor cookies on Pinterest! My friend made them in the morning (no signs of labor at all) and her baby was born that night.

Just to back everyone up, castor oil is VERY dangerous. I have read that someone who did it lost their baby.
If you've waited this long, it can't hurt to wait a little longer.

Don't do it... Doesn't even work!!! And there is a high probability that baby will poop inside of you.  (From experience)

Don't do the castor oil it's horrid and I've never heard anything positive. My friend gets acupuncture and both times has gone into labor within 48 hours. Also, you could just do lots of physical stuff. I cleaned my car, built a shelf, vacuumed and did some gardening. Nothing crazy, but kept physically active the entire day enough that I actually slept well that night. I had my daughter two days later.

I would be careful with it just because you have to drink it orally.... bleh... Maybe try  inserting evening primrose oil near your cervix to soften it?

I was 4cm dialated, 50% effaced and drank an entire bottle of Castor Oil, and it didn't do a thing but give me mild poops. 😅 and I still had to be induced..
It's not recommended because you can cause yourself to be dehydrated.
