Bone Chimes

"I go on hikes as often as I can. I love nature and getting away from my cubical is always welcome. My dog and I have a specific trail we go down and camp on all the time. It's miles away from civilization and the only time we've ever found anyone out here was a couple picking mushrooms. Well this was January so there wouldn't be any pickers out there then.

I set up camp in a regular spot and we eventually went to sleep in my tent. I heard nothing all that night which is saying something because I couldn't sleep for some reason. I didn't feel scared or anything, so I just attributed it to being excited to be out there and away from work. I did finally go to sleep and when I woke up I needed to pee badly. So I got out of my tent to do just that and let my dog out too and I notice a stack of bones a few feet behind my tent. They were large bones, not human but maybe cow or horse. The weird part is they were leaned up against each other in a pyramid shape. I saw there was a few more stacks and I don't remember seeing these when I set up camp, but maybe it was a racoon or something. I saw them hanging in the trees like morbid Chirstmas ornaments. Ok, so, that's definitely NOT just a weird racoon or something doing that!

My dog started to growl at tree in front of me maybe 25 feet away and the hairs on my neck stood up. She is 40 pounds so she isn't a attack dog and I was afraid I would have to leave her behind while she attacked whatever crazy fuck was watching us. I just knew I must have been in this freaks crosshairs and he had been waiting on me to come out of the tent all night. She barks and a turkey took off out from a bush thankfully. It seemed quiet so I packed up my gear and headed back to the truck as fast as I could go with 50 pounds of stuff on my back. I know it was probably jus some hillbilly creep trying to scare people now but it worked."
