Water breaking?? FTM!

Okay so me n hubby went on a walk tonight when we got back I immediately went potty n when I rocked to stand up a gush a fluid came out. I immediately wiped again n sniffed the completely clear liquid n it didn't smell or urine. So we went to the hospital n I was having consistent contractions but after my gush of fluid the fluid ended so they said it wasn't my water breaking. Has this happened to anyone else?? She told me from my contractions she wouldn't be surprised if I went into labor in the next two days but still curious as to what actually happened!
