Is it really worth it? Would you do it?

So... I get paid £7 an hour (barely even minimum wage). And for this I constantly get shouted at, verbally and sometimes physically abused, get judged heavilu(mostly due to my tattoos and piercings) and not to mention getting over-worked and working all hours under the sun... And moon.
I'm a care assistant and have been since I was 17(6 years). I love my job, but I just feel like it's getting to the point where the amount of people that appreciate the work I do is decreasing. I understand that these people are here for a reason but now I just feel like walking out but I'm in two minds. The term "better the devil you know" often springs to mind.
Should I stick it out or look elsewhere? Bearing in mind I'm also my gran's main carer and that in itself isn't easy by any stretch of imagination.
I just needed to vent and gather your input.
