Internal hemorrhoid

Okay idk for sure if I have an internal hemmorhoid, but I definitely feel discomfort down there once in a while. Didn't feel much besides occasional rectal spasms before 6 months pp...but It flared up when I drank some kombucha around 7 months pp. Very painful. It's gone down a lot, but it still occasionally flares up. Has anyone ever dealt with internal hemmorhoids before? I have a colonoscopy scheduled for possible removal (I think a colonoscopy might be over kill for hemmorhoids?!) and am super nervous about it. Wondering if anyone else has dealt with removal or just avoiding flares.
