Implantation bleeding did you have it?

Hey ladies, I'm just wondering how many of you had implantation bleeding, this is my 3rd pregnancy (first 2 ending in MC) and I have NEVER experienced implantation bleeding EVER. I'm currently 4w4d LMP 08/08/16 next would have been today 09/09/16. How many of you have had it and how close to AF were you?

One thing to note when it comes to IB is that the timing of it is very important. Spotting in early pregnancy can happen for a number of reasons, and isn't uncommon. IB however is very specific in that you really can't have a positive pregnancy test PRIOR to IB. Reason being is that IB, if it occurs at all, is due to the embryo burying itself into the uterine lining during implantation. Your body will not start to produce hcg (the hormone pregnancy tests detect) until AFTER implantation has occurred. It's impossible to receive a positive pregnancy test prior to implantation because your body won't produce hcg until after that has taken place. If you get a positive test and then experience spotting, it's not an implantation bleed, because one cannot happen before the other. If you do experience spotting after a bfp, it's more likely a decidual bleed, or due to changes in your cervix (your cervix becomes more sensitive when pregnant, and sometimes even intercourse can cause spotting). It could also be a number of other things (such in my case, where the hormones of being newly pregnant caused a cyst to form and rupture), or simply unexplained bleeding. But one thing to remember is that not all bleeding or spotting in early pregnancy is necessarily a bad thing. There are a number of reasons why one might experience spotting in early pregnancy that have no negative bearing on the pregnancy itself.

I've got 3 boys and never once had IB. I did have some spotting while newly pregnant with my youngest, but it turned out to be a cyst on my ovary that had ruptured. Now that we're TTC again, I've always wished I could get IB as I'm jealous of ladies that DO, seeing as it's one of the very first signs of pregnancy, but from what I've read, it's actually not that common (only occurring in about 30% of confirmed pregnancies). Last cycle AF was a week late and only lasted 2 days, so I'm still waiting to see what this AF does (due tomorrow... Ugh!), but I highly doubt what I had was IB related, as the timing for it wasn't right and was most likely just a wonky cycle! Congrats on your pregnancy & a very H&H 9mos to you!!

1 in 3 women get it. I had 'unexplained bleeding' for 2 months. I didn't find out that I was pregnant until 11 weeks making my conception date 24th December. In February and March I had small bleeds which lasted a couple of days but wernt enough to fill a panty liner. Doctors said the baby was healthy and these bleeds were unexplained
