When is the worst time for a surprise period

I hate starting away from home, especially in the middle of something. I started for the first time in 14 months yesterday during work. I'm a massage therapist so if I start unexpectedly I can be stuck in a room with a client for up to an hour and a half. Thankfully, I went with my gut and checked before I went into the room with a client but if I hadn't, my pants would have been a murder scene. Plus, I'd much rather be cramping at home.

My friend and I were at an event for concert band in high school when her period started. None of the girls in our 50+ piece band had one and none of the girls in the choir did either. We did ask multiple strangers for one outside the bathroom. Thank goodness one lady had stuff.

I would SO rather ask a stranger for supplies than to wake up in a murder scene in bed. Even more so now that I live with my boyfriend. I don't think anything would be worse than having to wake him up in the middle of the night so that I could change bloody sheets. Like, "hey babe, get up, I had an accident." Ugh. No thanks.
Also, I use a cup and it's always in my purse so I'm usually prepared away from home.

I once got my period at the beginning of a long flight coming home from a trip. I wasn’t expecting my period to come so i only had a couple tampons in my suitcase which was under the plane. My friend gave me a pad but i leaked and i also had no pain killers for the terrible cramps i was having. Worst thing ever.
