I am 16 years old and I had never gotten on birth control! In your opinion what's the best one you have used and why is it better than the rest of them?

Honestly it all depends on your body chemistry. I can't not have added hormones, so the only birth control I'm able to use is the paragaurd IUD and condoms. I like the paragaurd because I don't have to worry about a pill each day, it's can be used for 12 years. Down side is if you have a sensitivity to metals it could cause a lot of discomfort. Being 16, a doctor will most likely lead you down the path of the pill. I liked the pill when I was on it, cleared up my acne but my body acted insane with the extra hormones.

The best birth control is whichever method you can use consistently as directed. Your options are the pill (daily), patch (weekly), nuvaring (monthly), shot (every twelve weeks), arm implant (up to 4 years), hormonal iud (between 3 and 5 years), and nonhormonal iud  (up to 12 years). I was on the patch for almost 15 years and I loved it. I never had any side effects or unwanted pregnancies

I did implanon, nexplanon, and a pill that I can't remember the name of. Implanon sucked. I gained a lot of weight on it and my periods were SO irregular. I literally bled for weeks or a month at a time. The nexplanon wasn't as bad, but I still had irregular periods and the pill was my favorite. I lost weight once I came off the nexplanon. The only thing better about the implants than the pill is that you don't have to remember to take them at the same time every day.
