Who had their anatomy scan? What did doc do?

My first and last ultra sound was when I found out I was pregnant and it was 8 weeks but went on a vacation for 3 months. I took care of myself and my baby for the last 3 months but I haven't seen any doctor because I wanted to wait for my doctor when I come back to the states. Am 23 weeks today and have my first anatomy scan in a long time. What should I expect?? First time mom also.

Expect a long boring ultrasound . Haha. Mine took one full hour. I was falling asleep at the end.  They measure every little thing. We have to go back next month because the baby fell asleep backwards so we couldn't get his heart. The tech did ours then we reviewed it with the Doctor. I was really scared, but the tech said 98% of babies are absolutely perfect. :)

Mine took 5-10 minutes 😂

Got screenshots of what she needed which was brain, heart, stomach, bladder, femur bone, umbilical cord, & I think something else & that was it. The tech I got was not interested in finding out Gender (that was not her concern she told me) 😐 and the cord was in the way!

I met with my actually Dr. right after where he said everything was perfect and went home.

It'll take about 30-45 minutes or so, and they'll check baby's heart, brain, and major organs to make sure there are no anomalies. :) Then they check for gender (if youre finding out). They also get cute pictures of the baby and print them off for you :) Nothing to be worried about, but if they find something abnormal, they will tell you.

Mine took an hour and 10 mins, but I had to go back a week later as they couldn't get all the pics they needed.  Baby was being stubborn and had hands placed firmly on face for an hour 😂 That's a shot they need and they couldn't get a good view of the 4 chambers of the heart either.  Second visit, baby was good and we were done in 10 mins.  Just enjoy every second...it is so amazing to see all the details of your little miracle growing inside of you!  Good luck 👍🏻
