how long after c-section did you have sex?

I forgot to ask my do tor, but I had a c-section on August 14th & wanted to ask any of you ladies that have had a c-section how long you waited? Does it hurt? Thank you :)

I am pretty sure they recommend no sex until after your 6 week postnatal appointment for vaginal birth and c section. That is of course as long as you get a clean bill of health at that appointment! It's been over 6 1/2 years since my last c section, but I don't think that has changed.

I was told at my three week check up that we could have sex again. We waited seven weeks and it hurt a little bit.

In general you should wait til your postpartum check up and get the okay from your doc.

If you are still bleeding at all you should definitely wait.

I have had 3 c-sections so far and every time after it hurt for several times after waiting the 6 weeks.

Was even worse with my second when I had had mirena put in. It hurt for 18 months until I had it removed!
