Sooo tickled pink right now!

My baby would absolutely not latch from the very beginning. Staff at the hospital spend a great deal of time trying to help me. We tried everything including nipple shields. He prefers the fake nipple I guess. Plus he was lazy and wanted instant milk which obviously i couldn't make happen. Finally I gave up on our second night home and have formula and pumped out what I could of colostrum. When my milk came in I really just started to pump. He would drink formula I'd change his diapers and then I'd pump hoping it was enough to give him for the next feeding. Well I just got the bright idea a few moments ago to put on the nipple shield and see how he takes it. The milk just poured out! Faster than my pump can make happen and he drank it! I am just so happy. I wanted nothing more than to breastfeed this baby. I hope he can keep this up.
