anyone have a bf/husband as a police?

Ive been dating my bf for 2 years he is in college and his dream job is to be a police. Obviously it was scary when he first told me that but i never thought too much of it. Fast forward to today and all these police shootings im terrified for him. Its crazy how much this profession that was dangerous has become even more deadly. I know its his dream and support him but will always prayer extra now for him and the safety of others. Anyone else the same?-

Stop buying into the fear mongering.

Fact of the matter is, police officers are actually safer now and die in the line of duty less now than ever before.

While it doesn't seems that way sometimes and their job is very scary- he is actually relatively safe. Support him, love him, but dont waste energy being bitter, scared, or protective.

He signed up for this. He is ready. He is strong.

My husband isn't a police officer, but he's a detention officer and I fear the same when he goes to work every day. He's been in some nasty fights inside the jail and it scares me. I pray daily for those who serve the community and thank your spouses for doing what they do. It's a scary world out there.

My husband was a military police officer until he discharged. Then he was an officer for 6yrs. Took a 2yr break and is now trying to get back into it and if everything works out he'll be back out on patrol by Christmas. It never bothered be too much before, but with everything now I worry more, plus we're pregnant with our 3rd and our two older ones are old enough to understand what is going on. I spend a lot of time praying and just leaving it to God. I would make myself sick if I worried about it all the time. It does make me more nervous now though. But it's his heart and dream and all he wants to do, so i will stand by him, support him and pray hard.
