Who is so scared to have a c section or emergency c section?

I have no problem with having a c-section, EXCEPT that the idea of being awake during major surgery absolutely terrifies me. So does labor for that matter, but my fear of surgery is much much more intense.

It's my biggest fear having to do with baby coming out, except for baby dying! I would do anything to save baby from dying!

I'm not sure which is scarier. Both ways are painful either vaginally or by csection. I'd prefer no csection. I'm going to a birth center outside of a hospital. But if there is an emergency and a csection happens then that's ok too. I'll try everything I can to have a natural, medication free birth. Exercise, stretches, birthing ball, red raspberry leaf tea, dates, evening primrose oil, walking and clary sage essential oil. I'm still nervous, being a FTM.

For me the only thing that scares me is the shot in the back and the puking I do every time I have one!! And of course the lovely pain to deal with afterwards

I've had 2 csections due to medical issues. This one is supposed to be a VBAC, which scares me since I haven't experienced the full on vaginal birth, only had contractions before being taken to surgery. However, my last csection was a very hard recovery and it's been 4 1/2 years, but I really don't want to go through that again.... I'm very torn between another csection and vbac.
