Please don't ignore gut feelings

Ladies your body knows what it is doing if you feel something is wrong please get checked. If I would not have listened to my gut I would have probably delivered my son today at 31 weeks 2 day. I decided to get checked by L&D because I had period like cramps and back pain for several hours today. Get her and it's mainly braxton hicks contractions but I was having labor contractions every 30 minutes but not consistently. As my nurse was getting ready to discharge me I asked her to check my strip 1 more time to be safe and thank God she did I was then having labor contractions every 2 to 3 minutes. I was started on IV fluids to try and stop them while the doctor was called. While waiting my contractions increased in pain. The doctor came in and checked my cervix I was 3.5 cm dilated, 50% effaced and baby was at station -1. I have been admitted given medication to stop the contractions which is working so far but the nurse said that they can't tell if it really worked until it is stopped because sometimes the contractions start back after that. I have also been given steroids to help his lungs develop. I knew something was off and I am so greatful I listened.
