Is it okay to tell parents about pregnancy at 6 weeks?

pregnancy at 6 weeks?" /> I will be spending 4 weeks with parents traveling and staying at their house... I feel like coming up with excuses might get hard!

Best advice I ever got  was "If something (god forbid) happens to your pregnancy, would you like family support? Or to grieve alone?"

Immediate family is okay I think. Even if something does happen, then they will be there to support you. I told my family and in-laws the day we found out lol

I told my immediate family and my immediate in laws as soon as we found out. I didn't tell anyone else until we got past the first trimester 😊

I told mine at five weeks.  I was too excited I couldn't wait!!

You do whatever you want to do!!!  😊 There are no rules. We told our families at 6 weeks with both pregnancies.

Think about it this way - if heaven forbid you were to have a miscarriage would you tell them right away even if you hadn't told them you were pregnant yet?  Would you want/need their support through that or wouldn't want some time to yourself to deal with the loss before talking about it with others.
My first miscarriage we had told our families we were pregnant and then a week later had to tell them we lost it.  My second miscarriage we decided to wait to announce our pregnancy and we lost it 3 days before we were going to announce.  We preferred taking time to deal with the pain ourselves first before sharing the news and also found it easier to tell our families we had had another loss without having told them we were pregnant.  We felt like we weren't robbing them of that happiness that way.
It's all personal preference on how you would handle a potential miscarriage.  That's the only reason people wait to announce - so that the chances of having to then announce a loss is less

We told our families at 6 weeks! I have had two miscarriages before and didn't tell anyone I was pregnant and it didn't make it any easier. So we decided to tell close family right away and if something happened we would deal with it. Well I'm now 19 weeks and baby is perfect!

That's how I feel too. Im only about 5 weeks and I feel like I should tell them but at the same time I feel it's so early. But it basically came down to if something does happen id want them there
