fluoride?

Did anyone else's Dr give your 6 month old a prescription for fluoride?  I barely got a chance to speak to my dr about it because I was distracted by other questions I had.  I got a call from CVS about a prescription ready for my LO and didn't realize she even ordered a prescription for it.  Do you all give you LO's fluoride?  I haven't had time to research it but I do remember reading something about it's not good to give people too much fluoride, etc.  Wanted to know if this is typical at a 6 month appt?  She doesn't have any teeth yet; one is starting to break through.
