Induction

I have an appt Thursday I'll be 39 weeks exact that day. My Dr. Is going to offer to schedule for induction but it's totally up to me. Not sure what to do! I got induced with my daughter at 40 weeks 1 day and I was in labor for 12 hrs pushing for 1hr got a 3rd degree tear. I really didn't want to go through that again this time around but it doesn't seem like this baby will come on its own either. Haven't had any Braxton Hicks or loss of mucus plug. I've been feeling alot more pain down there these past couple of days but other than that nothing else! I am dialated only 1cm since last week. Just not sure about making a decision to induce or not. I really don't want to rush it, I want him to come on his own but I don't feel like he will! He is going to be a big baby I know it. At my 37 week sono he was 7 pounds already. Should I wait it out till after the 40 weeks or just schedule induction?
