Has any of you mommies used the Owlet?

I'm a first time mom and my husband and I have been thinking of buy the owlet monitor. I'm wondering if anyone has used it and is it worth the money?

I just could forsee a lot of issues with this, so we did not buy this. We instead bought a breathable crib mattress. Newton brand. I was so excited when it was delivered, I literally pressed my face into it for like five minutes taking deep breaths and could breathe fine. Really impressed and love the peace of mind that baby can breathe regardless of position. I figured if we were going to spend major cash, I want a guarantee, not something that has room to fail. 👍🏻 Good luck!!

I plan on buying this! I know when I was a newborn up to 6 months I would stop breathing MULTIPLE times through out the night and my mom would just nudge me awake so my body would remember to breathe. She did have to cosleep with me and said she couldn't let anyone else watch me..

I think depends on your comfort level.  I didn't believe that this device would actually prevent SIDS.  If it's going to happen it's going to happen.  We practiced safe sleeping methods and that was enough to put our mind at ease.

My brother and sister in law have it for their newborn, and they love it. They use this + a dropcam to monitor him, and it seems to work. We babysat the other night, and put it on him. It straps on, and it's very secure. The sock ensures that it stays in place, too. We had one alarm go of while we were there, because the baby was too far from the station. Other than that, no false alarms, easy to use, etc.

That said, the other commenter is right, this won't stop SIDS. It will only alert you to the fact that it may be happening.

I think I'm going to get this as well. I love the concept of this and if it's going to slightly put my mind at ease so I can sleep a little bit better than why not?!

I went with the angel care monitor.. she's not born yet but read a lot of great reviews that will hopefully ease my mind

I've heard of women that have bought this and didn't use it for very long because it set off lots of false alarms.
