Had an interesting conversation with my friend today about racism and he said "if you hate someone because of their race, you're racist, even if you hate someone just because they're white"
Do you guys think this statement is true?

Hating anyone for their skin color is wrong. Regardless of what color it may be. We are the same colors on the inside

Hating someone because of their race is not racism. ONE person hating another due to race is prejudice. When ONE person feel that way about the WHOLE RACE then they may be racist, but then again racism is THE ACT of oppressing someone through authority and power. Black people have NEVER in the history of tbe United States had the authority or the power to implement systematic racism. At this point people, please stop reading the dictionary definition and go look at lectures from academic people like Jane Elliott ...Oh and WE ALL KNOW WHO wrote those dictionaries....

If you hate someone because of their race you are PREJUDICE

If you act on that PREJUIDCE you are DISCRIMINATING

If you have the power to change their quality of life (school they go to, neighborhood they live in, job they possess, healthcare they have access to, etc) YOU ARE RACIST

The way I understand it racism is something only white people can do...nobody can be racist against white people, and you can't be a racist if you aren't white.

I had a friend who the whole night we were together kept saying things like "white girl music" and "white girl wasted"
But I simply said "why is it that you can make statements-non offensive-about white people...but if I said the same things about black people there would be an issue?"
She didn't have a response..

Hate someone for being a bad parent or bad spouse, bad cook, thing that can be improved but they choose not to..

I know a girl from chicago and she said that intimidation more than racism goes on between the white and black people. Her mom worked a job after her husband died to make ends meet, where the staff were mainly black, and they essentially intimidated her out of her job. Like idk what its like because I don't live in the states.
