PCOS Help? Tips? Advice?

So I have PCOS. I have been put back on metformin. I stopped taking it in January because I got busy and saw it was no help but after stopping I gained 10 lbs. now my doctor wants me on it again and birth control. This time around I eat better and excerise but have lost no weight. I feel like all the doctors I have give me no advice on what to do. This time around the metformin is taking a toll with upset stomachs and dirrahea. Any help with condition. All I know is what I have googled.

Some people find if they take the metformin with the meal, it reduces sickness. I use inositol instead. It is difficult to get proper help from doctors as there is so much research happening all the time and the doctors can only prescribe what they can. But PCOS needs to be managed with diet and exercise. No processed food, limit sugar, have lots of vege especially leafy greens, limit dairy, if you have dairy have the full fat version, (not full sugar) but full fat. Eat less carbs, put more fats and proteins on your plate. There are some great websites now. Try PCOSteam.com for a social media type thing, PCOS diva is good too. 😊
