miscarriage??

2 days ago my friend calls and tells me she's pregnant and she was super excited about being pregnant together and estimated about 6 weeks along. 

A few hours later I get a call and she is bleeding as if she started her period and her husband had her car and his car was a stick and she didn't know how to drive it. Long story short I pick her and her son up and drop her off at the ER Where her husband meets us. I take her son with me to watch him and later on they said that her hormone levels were in the 300s and her test came back positive for pregnancy. But there was bleeding and couldn't see anything on ultrasound except an empty circle. I'm really upset for her. 

They told her to make an appt for next week and they'd go from there. 

Has this happened to anyone and things turn out ok?? Posting anon because I just don't like my face plastered on my personal business. I just really don't know how to comfort her or give her false hope.
