Car seat Question!!?

Okay so I found this Car seat cover that I think is adorable. I put it on my registry and didn't think twice about it. That is until recently when I saw a post on here about some other car seat accessory not being safe and apparently any warranty on the car seat is voided if you add anythig onto it. I just think it's weird that I couldn't find anything on the Etsy sight about it being unsafe. Please help!

There are a million sellers who sell on Etsy. They don't need to post if it's unsafe or not, they probably figure the buyer will do their research and decide if they want the product or not. With that being said, I have read multiple articles about all those cushions and covers being unsafe. And yes, most warranties will be voided if extra cushions and things are added.

I read an article that said padding that doesn't come with the car seat can compress in an accident and allow the baby to slip out of the car seat and be ejected. This even applies to thick coats. You should always use a blankie outside of the straps to keep baby warm in winter! I wish I could remember where I read this, but do your research!

Anything added to the seat, that doesn't come with it, or is approved by the manufacturer, is dangerous. The cushion straps, covers, add in padding, all of it. I'm not sure why there hasn't been more information out about this.

When explaining it, I usually tell people you wouldn't use a base for the carrier that didn't come with it, so you shouldn't use other things either. 
 
There are a lot of super neat baby things out there that aren't particularly safe, researching whatever you get is always a good choice.
