Wishes for after birth, visitors and SM?

Does any have any odd wishes for when they give birth? I definitely want people to be clean and have sanitised hands but I also want mine and my boyfriend's parents to meet her first... And then I don't mind. I also don't want people instantly posting her on Facebook and stuff, I want that to be our choice when we do. And then they can. So if people didn't know I had her and then they see it on our fb not someone else's first. Are they odd? My boyfriend is making me feel that they are irrational. 😖 I thought they were okay.

I don't think those are irrational requests at all. We plan to announce baby on social media after the grandparents have met baby and only with a photo where baby doesn't look like a potato 😂

I feel the same way about pictures. It's pretty much everyone's focus to be the first to post new information on Facebook... Pisses me off. I think we'll wait until a day or two after the baby is born before we post anything at all and I expect my family to honor that.

Annnnd when I got married, my brother was the first to post any pictures. So what got shared and posted all over my friends pages and my Facebook groups were 3 pictures of him and his wife at the reception hall and one picture of me and my husband. Just dumb!

Try not to micromanage your new baby experience. It's a joyful experience for all family and friends.
Granted it's your baby but the people in your life will be your support network try to be inclusive and appreciate the attention for yourself and the baby. 
Also remember it's your bfs baby too so if he is happy for his friends and family to share his baby's photo then he has that right. 
I know someone who was very controlling and had a list of rules of who could visit and when and what they could and couldn't do, she ruined the experience for a lot of the family members like first time aunties and grandparents. It seemed more about her asserting her power as the mother and not genuine concern about the baby.

Focus on the positives rather than the little annoyances. And most of all enjoy being a new parent ☺️❤️

I just ask that no one posts baby announcements until after we do. I made my parents wait like 4 weeks to announced we were having another baby and then a day before we announced gender. So we will ask that they don't announce the birth either until we do. But in the past we have posted the birth pretty quickly after making the call to important people.

I told my family not to post anything on Facebook until I did because I wanted to be the one to announce my daughter's arrival. They respected that and yours should too.

I feel the same way im asking everyone to allow the family to meet baby first and no pics posted until everyone important has met him. In fact i think no pics posted unless its by me or my SO its our news to share and no one elses. Keeping hospital visits stricktly to our parents as i think the first days should really be about the 3 of us as a family for the first time and our parents because they have helped us out so much and will play such an important part in babys life...also i think i may need my mam for comfort and support 😀

This is my third. Number three is much different than number one. I completely understand where you are coming from and ultimately it's yours and your boyfriend's baby..but if you micromanage things too far, your going to ruin your experience. Yes this is your daughter.. but this is also their granddaughter, niece, cousin, etc etc. Everyone is going to be so excited.. don't push them away with all these rules and demands. Your list isnt too crazy. No one will hardly care about baby number two and especially number three lol.. enjoy the attention.. :)
