anti depressant while pregnant?

Anybody on one? My dr is recommending Zoloft for me because I'm kinda a wreck. I'm torn in half about taking it even though she indicates it is safe and I'm in my second trimester which is a good time to use it.

Your doctor should honestly be referring you to a psychiatrist. Yes Zoloft is perfectly safe to take during pregnancy (I know a lot about anti depressants as I've been on basically everything under the moon), but at the very least she should be recommending Zoloft paired with talk therapy. Very rarely does medication work on its own. It's usually only prescribed by a psychiatrist if just talk therapy isn't working.

I take Remeron, Wellbutrin XL and clonazepam.  I have had no issues and I'm closely monitored by maternal fetal medicine high risk doctors my OBGYN and my psychiatrist.

I will be completely honest with you. Doctors get paid for prescribing pills... psychiatric drugs are one of the biggest drugs that bring in income. I was on Zofran and Seraquel because I have ADHD and OCD. Well, one day I went into a adult mental ward because I wanted to become a therapist. I discovered what real depression was. If you ask any psychiatrist what they studied out of in college, they might refer to it as the bible. I forgot the name. I suggest everyone to read it, because what your doctors says might be just a shadow of what it really is... I want everyone to know that medication is rarely ever the solution. I just wanted to say this because I was a victim of it. Do whatever you feel is right. Good luck!
