Do Looks matter?

Do you think looks matter? I think they do, to an extent in certain places and scenarios. I think the way you present yourself to the world says a lot about how you see yourself and how you want others to see you. THIS DOES NOT MEAN that I judge people solely on looks. I do believe that looks matter sometimes.  And again, I am not talking about judging a person based on appearance.

To be clear: I am talking about basic appearance; clothes hygiene hairstyle  etc, not weight or skin color.

I am not creating this to cause problems, discriminate, or anything. I simply want to run a poll and discuss. If you think asking a discussion question is a reportable problem, you may overlook this post.

Again, I just want to know what you think and maybe discuss.

Looks matter to an extent, especially with strangers and people you don't already know. Looks capture my attention but personality keeps me interested.

That's like saying a homeless meth addict's appearance has the same effect on you as a doctor working in a hospital's appearance.

Of course presentation matters. From what is worn to the hygiene of the wearer. Even your smell or the expression you have on your face.

I think that you need to be attracted to the person you are going to be with, but don't expect them to be perfect. They just have to be right for you.

Whoever says never is lying. I'm sure you've never judged someone's appearance, whether aloud or in your mind.

Looks always matter. They aren't the only thing that matters, but they are a thing that matters.

Ish? There has to be some sort of physical attraction to a person~

....XD but it is definetly not 'the deal breaker' on if you want a serious relationship with someone.

Of course they do, but one shouldn't think theyre going to get by on just a pretty face.

They definetly do. Not meaning you have to be a model, or fit a very specific type but it does matter. You cannot force yourself to be attracted to someone, honestly if you don't think that they are good looking in some way there's not a full connection there.

Yes it does. Like when you go for an interview wear your best clothes and be modest and you might get the job. If you go in wearing a tube top or clothes with holes and baggy pants, you probably won't get the job. When I go to my daughter's school I always make sure I wear my "mom" clothes and not my sexiest clothes.

Looks matter because society dictates that they matter. Some cultures one thing is appropriate others it is considered the exact opposite, beards for example. 
I think we should all be judged solely on our abilities and not on how we look as one has nothing to do with the other, but like I said society dictates.
