Any point in testing with urine infection

I've been trying not to go the toilet all night but finally caved at about 4:30 and now I have another urine infection. So I've taken my tablet and downed a glass of water in the hope this helps a little.

But is there any point in taking a test if all I've done since half 4 is drink water and go to the toilet? Doesn't seem to me that it would count as fmu or that it would be strong enough due the water? I'm 8dpo as well with 6 days left till AF is due.
