I need advice

On September 19th I had an exterminator come to my home for services. They showed up an hour late. This was not the first time I've had this problem with this specific business but I still used them because they're the least expensive in the area...after finally showing up I wrote them a check and accidentally dated it for September 1st. I didn't realize I had done it until after they left with it. Their policy is you have 30 days after services to pay. I meant to write the check for October 1st as that is when I get paid. I immediately called them and heard nothing. So finally I text messaged them (which they do regularly) and explained that I thought I had written it for the wrong date and wanted them to confirm this and then stated that I didn't get paid until the 1st of the month. They finally responded saying they wouldn't cash the check until next week. That text was dated September 23rd. I checked my bank account today and low and behold they cashed the freakin check today September 29th. So clearly they are liars. But I feel it is my own fault for accidentally writing the wrong date on the check. What can I do about this? I have text message proof of them saying they wouldn't cash it yet they still went and did it. I want to go to my bank and explain because my account is now negative but I feel like they'll tell me it's my own fault for the whole date mix up. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
