Did you get the flu shot?

I just found out I'm 5weeks and I opted not to get the flu shot so I can get reviews and research whether or not I should. Also if your SO got one would be nice to know, because my husband works at a school which is germ city and I also work at a daycare which is the same.

My husband is a pharmacist and said it is highly recommended for pregnant women to get the flu shot. My mom had the flu last week, so I have a feeling this is going to be a rough flu year. I got my flu shot on Monday and I was 7 weeks + 5 days pregnant. Be sure to ask for the flu shot that covers more strains! It's a little more expensive if you don't have insurance, but sooo worth it.

I recommend doing your research and making an informed decision. I did not get the flu shot with my first pregnancy, but it also wasn't even recommended, nor were any vaccines by my doctors (things were different 5 years ago). I never got sick. If you do your research make sure you try to get both sides and weigh both options. You don't have to make a decision now, make sure you feel comfortable with a well researched decision.

I work in the healthcare and always get my flu shot. My GP also recommends pregnant women to get this too☺

I got the flu shot at Walgreens because my mom is going through chemotherapy at the moment and is immune compromised. I don't typically get it, but they are really great! They also give pregnant women a specific preservative-free flu shot that won't harm your baby. I'd say that of you typically get the flu shot, you should still get it. If you're worried about the reaction, for me, it wasn't bad. Just sore in my arm and in my joints for a day.

You should def get the flu shot. Pregnant women who get the flu it can be very bad, even fatal. When you get it just make sure it's not a love vacine and make sure it's preservative free

I've never had the flu vaccine. But in my adult life, I've not worked in an environment where I was at high risk of catching it, and now I'm a housewife. I haven't decided if I will or won't get vaccinated this year since I'm pregnant. I'm leaning towards no.

We usually refuse the flu vaccine for everyone but my asthmatic baby. But I got type A flu when 28 weeks along with my fourth child and landed in the hospital with pneumonia and pre term labor from uncontrolled vomiting every 8-10 minutes. I was in the hospital for a week. I got my flu shot a week ago to try to avoid that this time.

That said, two days after the flu shot I got a horrible stomach virus and now I'm coughing like I have bronchitis. I'm even more suspicious now.

I'm undecided on whether to get it as I've read it contains alot of mercury! Not sure how truthful it is but it's made me weary

Nurse here, parter works at school, both are germ central. Work paid for both our flu shots, it's so worth it. In the end, why risk not getting one? Side effects are very minimal but the benefit is huge! Obviously it doesn't always work, but in the cases that is does, still worth it!
