Being separated from my SO 😪

We've been living together for 8 months now, I wake up to him everyday. He's my best friend. I have no other friends or family in the new town we live in and neither does he. We're all each other has here.... though he doesn't have to leave yet, he seems a bit eager to return and start a new job and says whenever the new job needs him he'll go(even if that means leaving me a month earlier than he needs too)..... but what about me? He's forgetting that IM his girlfriend and that I need him. How do I explain this to him without sounding like I'm too over bearing or needy 😪 I love him more than i I ever though possible to love someone, & he's proven he loves me the same but with this situation he's acting funny. Help if you can, need all the advice I can get....
