Return of menstrual cycle postpartum

I am 2 months and 9 days postpartum with my 3rd child. I haven't had any hint of my period returning and my doctor won't start my birth control until after it returns and I've had a pregnancy test. I don't remember it taking this long to start my cycle back with either of my previous pregnancies, so my question to you ladies is how long did it take your period to come back after birth?
