when did you ladies get your first ultrasound

Hey ladies!! Just curious when everyone got their first ultrasound to see their bundle of joy. I'm 7 weeks and live in Canada and have read online that they will send you at 18-20 weeks, which to me seems way to long to not see your baby. Is this the normal as im a first time mommy.

Never. The only one they even recommended was the 20 week scan. Actually, I got one at 12 weeks to look at my ovary, but it wasn't for the baby. And the 20 week scan doesn't improve outcomes.

I had my first at 7 weeks and my second at 8 weeks 4 days and then another at around 12 weeks and my next will be at 20weeks 4 days to find out gender. I've had 3 losses in the past so I had an 'early' scan to make sure things we going forward as they should, the 8,12,20 are normal here in South Dakota(USA). I can't imagine waiting so long!

I live in BC. I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks (dating ultrasound). My next one won't be until 21 weeks for the anatomy scan. I'm sure it varies a little from doctor to doctor and province to province. I would discuss your concerns with your doctor.

It might depend on which province you live in. I'm from Manitoba and I will be having my first ultrasound at 19 weeks. I am 18 weeks now and I know it is really hard to wait so long. Hang in there 😊

My first one for my daughter and this baby was when I was 8 weeks!

I was 6 weeks exactly but I have PCOS so she wanted to make sure everything looked good. Next one was 10 weeks now waiting till 18 weeks for the third and to find out baby's gender. It's so hard to wait 6 more weeks to go!
