Lunch meat?!??

Question

I'm just curious how many of u fellow pregnant women eat lunch meat??  I am having my 5th child and this is the first time I have ever been told to watch lunch meat.  I love chipped ham....help!!

I eat deli meat almost every day of my life. Did it with my first pregnancy and I am doing it with this one. Chances of lysteria are low and you can get it from anything. Costco had a recall on peaches a couple years ago bc of lysteria. The hype around this lunch meat thing is crazy imo

I eat lunch meat, if it's super fresh. My good friend is an OBGYN and she ate a Subway turkey sandwich every Friday her entire pregnancy. She said the risk of listeria is extremely low (like 1 in 11,000,000) and they aren't even talking about not eating lunch meat much anymore when you are doing your OBGYN training. She also said she trusts the cleanliness/freshness of say, Jimmy Johns, more than her own kitchen because of all the inspections they have etc. so she's not worried. It's a personal choice but I'm not worried either.

I don't heat mine up.... unless I'm getting a toasted sub from subway.... I'm 38+4 lol
Honestly as long as it's a reputable place youre getting it from, I wouldn't worry. 😂

I eat it if it was made from cooked meat (chicken, turkey) but if the meat is just cured I don't eat it (like salami).

I have ate almost every food they tell you not to with a couple pregnancies. Sushi only at the end and it was veggie sushi and made sure it was handled properly also. Its same with the lunch meat
