35 weeks 5 days with cramps

Just curious because I have read several birth stories about women who say when they were going into labor it felt like menstrual cramps at the beginning. I have had a few (like 1-3) cramps every night for a few days, I had about 5 last night and today I still feel a little like I'm about to start my period. Nothing super painful, no lost mucous plug, no water breaking, etc. Would anyone else call their doctor or wait for something more concrete to show I'm going into labor??
