baby shower.. or not so much!

Today was my 'pre baby party' this wasn't a shower because I asked for no gifts,I didn't have a registry,I didn't want or need anything for our boy.. I asked for books,I'm yet to open the gifts I did receive but today wasn't as bad as I'd expected.. I struggle with all the attention,my other half wasn't there,he's my safe place,I don't feel very confident without him there and he's always there when I struggle to talk to people. I got to spend today with my closest friends and family,the people who care about our little mans arrival and it was really special for me! Here's my cake anyway,I didn't get many pictures! But it's adorable!!
