ACC at 20 week ultrasound

Adam

We were very excited to get better photos of our baby at our 20 week sonogram. The sonographer and dr said they couldn't see the corpus collosum and said possibly there was partial agenesis. We didn't know what that meant but the dr said that it could mean a neurological problem like Multiple Sclerosis or autism or blindness. For the next week my wife cried and was devastated.  I began to accept the fact that our baby had a neurological problem. My friend at work Tony told me to have faith and said "the baby's gonna be ok" and his positive attitude helped us a lot. One week later during the second sonogram the 'box' or space between the right and left hemispheres where the medial cortex is supposed to be was there. They did an MRI and then later that day we got a confirmation that everything looked fine. We went through over a week of heartache and soul searching. For all those who recently have gotten difficult news and are preparing for the worst just remember - there is hope
