Meet Natalie!

Nicole
My water broke 10/4/16 at only 30 weeks. I was admitted to the perinatal unit for what my doctors were hoping would be a 4 week stay. The plan was to control infection and deliver at 34 weeks. It was stressful and hard on my family. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband and I live far away from both sides of our family. In order to care for our other children, my husband had to take a 6 week, UNPAID leave of absence. I still ended up with an infection due to having no amniotic fluid. The only cure was delivery. I feel truly blessed to say that at 31 weeks, I gave birth to a tiny ball of preemie baby goodness. Our Natalie is breathing on her own and doing well with feeding. She is only 3lbs 13oz, but is doing well and will have a relatively short stay in the NICU.
