Teaching my son to share?

My son is 10months an his brother is due in less then 2months an he doesn't like to share nothing! If daddy is laying on mommy he will smack daddy in the face an tell him my mom an same goes if mommy is laying on daddy. I don't want him being mean to his brother how do I teach him to share. Also he wasn't like this until his cousin moved in an his cousin is 3years old he don't share either an his mom let's him act like that her son has pushed my sons face down in the floor for playing with is ball! An if I say anything to her about it turns into a big deal an me an my husband end up fighting from it. I need help!!

It's very difficult to teach a child to share that young. Its developmentally appropriate for his age to not want to share. What you can do is redirect him e.g. if his cousin is playing with toy A, say 'he is playing with this right now, how about the toy train instead? Wow, look at that cool train, come show me' and praise him.  Also he is hitting because he doesn't have another means to communicate his frustration. If you give him other communication skills that 'work' for him that will help,  e.g. you say 'you feel angry!'and stomp your feet to show him what to do instead.  With consistency, as he grows be will learn to use words and stomp his feet to communicate his anger instead of hitting. When he does it, praise him 'yes I can see you are angry, thank you for telling me how you feel'. It's a lot of work but a great skill for them to develop. Fyi I have a master's in psychology and 3 kids, 1 of them is verrry strong willed, so I'm not just making up fluffy crap I read on Google lol

I have been trying to teach my daughter to share since around the same age, it's definitely important for them to learn, but she's 2.5 and we still struggle with it. At that age they don't get the concept of sharing, but it's definitely important to keep reminding them, and discipline for hitting and stuff is important too. My daughter started hitting right around a year I think, it took her a long time to snap out of it. We did lots of time outs, now at 2.5 she's going through a stage of throwing things when she's upset, she now gets time out in her room, which seems to work.

He might surprise you though, he may be really good with the new baby, and really for the first bit, there will be nothing for them to share, but once they are older he should know enough to grasp the concept, but it definitely takes time and Patience. Your gonna have your hands full mama! I will have a 3 year old and a new baby, which will have its challenges, but it amazes me to see women who can juggle two babies! My mom did it and she still doesn't know how she did it!😋
