When did you have your baby start sleeping in another room?

My baby is 3 weeks old. I wake up to every little noise he makes. Is it too early to have him sleep in his crib in another room? What are your thoughts?!

I'd rather have baby close by when their that tiny. I like to make sure they are at a good temperature and make sure they are breathing. I'm weird I guess. I've read a few stories about heating/cooling systems malfunctioning babies can't regulate their temperatures.

One of ours coslept with us for 9 months, the other moved out around a month old. Depends on the kid!!

6 weeks and I should have done it sooner. Like you I woke up to every little sigh so even though she was a good sleeper I was a zombie because I never could sleep. The night I moved her to her own room I slept great!  And she didn't notice the difference :)

I did it the day we brought her home. If you have a good monitor and you can physically get to the baby quickly then there is no reason to keep them in your room except for convenience.

Its never too early. I didn't move my daughter till 8 months as we couldn't afford to heat 2 rooms over night (below freezing here) but now she sleeps in her room and her sibling when they come will be in their own room from the start.

Not at all! Im considering doing it early this time around because my first slept way better in his own crib. We switched him to his own room at 6 weeks but whenever you're comfortable works. We had the angelcare monitor so that gave me peace of mind that he was safe
