I worry way too much

But..I went to the hospital a couple of nights ago. I puked for 2 days straight. Everything that went down, came straight back up. So, I called my doctor (I haven't had my first appointment yet,) to see if maybe they could just call me in something. They told me to go to the ER to get fluids. So, I did. After routine lab work, the doctor came in to tell me that everything looked fine and that I'm "very pregnant" in her words, my hormone levels are in the "6, 7, 8 area." According to my LMP, I'm 8 weeks 2 days. My first appointment is on the 31st, so I'll be closing in on 10 weeks by that point. If something were wrong with my baby, would my HCG levels show that? Also, if I'm 8 weeks, why would my HCG levels show any lower?  This is my first pregnancy, and based on this morning sickness, my last, so I really want it to be as healthy as possible.
