anyway to get baby to stop comfort nursing at night??

Without using cry it out? He's 6 months old, gets himself to sleep but wakes up every 2 hours wanting to nurse

There really isn't a way to ween them without them crying it out. They aren't hurting. I had to do it with my son. It was just a habit for him at that point but after three nights he didn't cry or wake up anymore. Babies catch on fast. Two or three nights of crying out is so worth the extra sleep in the end. They will be fine, just comfort them every 10-15min till they fall back asleep.

Use other methods to get him to sleep (rocking, letting him go to sleep on his own, etc). Start with every other time he wakes up. So the first time he wakes up for the night, rock him back to sleep. The next time, nurse him. Alternate like that. When he gets the hang of that, only nurse him every third time and so on. It's still perfectly normal for him to need to nurse at that age, so I wouldn't cut out the night time nursing completely. You can look up night weaning on Kelly mom for a more in depth article, but that's basically what you want to do. It's not really recommended for a baby so young, but if you're desperate even being able to cut out one waking helps. Good luck.

Haha please tell me if you find something that works! My son will be 11 months on the 30th and still gets up 2-3 times a night to nurse..
