What is the longest stretch your newborns stay up for? It seems like my 5 week old stays awake for an hour to an hour and a 1/2 and then goes back to sleep. Is that pretty normal? Or should she have longer stretches of being awake?

If my little one is up for longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes he gets incredibly cranky and overtired and it's a ton of work to get him to go to sleep.

My almost five week old stayed awake most of the day Thursday then slept most of the day yesterday. Some days she's more alert and fights sleep lol, then makes up for it the next day.

My almost 5 week old is awake for maybe 1-2 hours max thru the day & this has been just within the last two weeks maybe.  She was also 4 weeks early though.

Seems normal, my 4, almost 5 week old is up probably 2 or 3 times a day for anywhere from an hour and a half to. . Well probably 2 hours MAYBE  2 1/2 hours. Except for the crabby days where he won't go to sleep.

My almost four week old can be awake up to three or four hours and can sleep up to four and a half. I don't think my son has ever followed normal sleep schedules, when he was born I had to be sewn up for about an hour and a half and my partner was sick from the adrenaline from watching him being born, so he wasn't given to us for almost two hours and then he nursed for about forty minutes, stayed awake for another twenty minutes before falling asleep for the first time.

Typically my 5 week old sleeps 12-13 hours at night (wakes 3 times to nurse), is awake for 3-4 hours in the morning, naps for 2-3 hours, and is awake for 3-4 hours before bed. It can all vary by day.

I wish my baby slept more, she stays awake for 3 hours, just doesn't wanna sleep and gets cranky and fussy and we struggle to get her down
