period every other week or tremors ?

I am 17 years old and got my period in 4th grade and still not regular. I went on the birth control pill for this reason and also to iliminate some of the pain that comes with my period.  Recently I went on a stronger birth control so I wouldn't have my period twice a month or have all month and then not at all for a month. With the increase of dosage my body has not been very happy. It is possible( but still filling other things out)  that my birth control is causing this.i am allergic to a lot of medicines and the birth control is in the same family. the symptoms cause me blurry vision, numbness, and tiredness. My doctor said if it turns out to be the birth control is the problem, having a unconsitant flow would be better then these tremors. I would rather be in less pain and regular, but what your guys opinion. Or is that a birth control that I should look into.
