Terrible day at the hospital (sorry long post)

Lacey
I had an awful day! A bit of a back story first... I have a clotting disorder. It's a previous condition. For the past 9 months I have had to give myself an injection twice a day to help clots to not form. (What I take is safe for the baby)
Well they switched my medicine at 35 weeks. It's heparin, which lasts only 12 hours instead of 24 hours. That way when I go into labor my blood will be back to normal.
Well my blood clots are only in my left leg. It's called May-Thurner syndrome if your wondering why only the left.
I woke up last night with pain and swelling. Something was definitely different. I was very afraid that I had more clots forming.
Thankfully my OB appointment was scheduled for today. I told my doctors my concerns and he ordered an ultrasound. Long story short they didn't find any new clots (which is great news!)
Well I live 1 1/2 hours from my doctors office and went to eat lunch while waiting for my results. While I was there, my vision went blurry in my left eye. I thought it was the lighting of the restaurant or something and didn't think much of it. When I left for home, I got about halfway there and all of a sudden the very tip of one of my fingers in my left hand went numb and then finally spread to the rest of my hand and then forarm. I pulled over and shook my hand like it was asleep but it lasted for a few minutes. It wasn't like it fell asleep. It was different and very concerning.
I called my OB nurse to see what she thought and if I needed to go to the ER. She said with my history I definitely should go get checked out. I drove 45 mins back to the ER to go get checked out.
This is where things got very upsetting to me. I don't take going to the ER very lightly. Infact, when I got my first blood clot and couldn't walk I still made a doctors appointment. Honestly, I should have called 911. So I don't just go for every little thing.
The doctor that checked me out there asked a few questions about why I was there. He then said, "well your on heparin and that should be enough. What are you wanting to get out of this."
What? What does that even mean. I came in because I had some very major symptoms and needed to make sure I was alright. It was like he didn't believe me or care. I wasn't looking to get anything out of the visit but maybe for him to just make sure everything was okay.
Afterwards I talked to my sister who is an ER nurse and she said yeah my symptoms very much were stroke like but since they didn't last that it probabaly wasn't a stroke. It was probably just pregnancy symptoms.
Why couldn't that doctor explain things to me like that? It's doctors like that that make people feel stupid for going to the ER. It's sad but I'll probably think twice before every going again (hopefully it's not a real emergency the next time)
Anyone else have problems with any doctors like that?
Update: I went to my cardiologist and he was very concerned. He wants me to go ahead and be induced no later than 39 weeks so that he can do an EKG of my heart to make sure I don't have a hole.
Moral of the story ladies... no matter how small you think something is get it checked out. And NEVER feel stupid for doing so no matter how your doctor treats you!
